This workshop was held as pre-conference workshop at the Association of Tribal Archives, Libraries, and Museums (ATALM) annual meeting. Developed in collaboration with the Huhugam Heritage Center (HHC), the workshop gave participants the opportunity to learn how to enhance their collections database by using tribal language to describe and document their respective collections.The workshop featured the work the HHC has done in documenting language that centers on basket weaving (types, materials, techniques). Participants learned best practices for language documentation and how to incorporate the information into a collections database. Participants learned how to document their tribal language using musem collections and discussed how language documentation can contribute to language teaching, exhibit development and other cultural programming.
