AILDI Statement on Black Lives Matter
The American Indian Language Development Institute (AILDI) honors the commitment of our ancestors to sustain our languages, cultures, and knowledge-often at the cost of their dignity, spirituality-even their very lives. AILDI acknowledges and honors the voices of Black and People of Color to maintain their cultural identity and spirit in pursuit of a life well-lived. AILDI stands with Black People and People of Color as we continue to address institutional racism and generational injustices. AILDI re-affirms our dedication to supporting and creating racial equality and empathy as part of our language revitalization mission.
