Using FLEX Workshop, November 2 & 3, 2017

Fieldworks Language Explorer (FLEx) is a linguistic database for lexicographical and text data collection and analysis. The workshop introduced the software and focused on creating and editing the lexicon and interlinear texts. Participants learned how to navigate FLEx and how to create, open and back up a project. They also became familiar with basic data entry tasks, creating and editing lexical entries, creating text entries and adding audio files and images to lexical and text entries. The workshop focused on the Piipaash and O'odham languages and was sponsored by and held at  the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community. The workshop instructor was Tyler Peterson, Ph.D., University of Auckland, New Zealand. For the workshop schedule, goals and tasks click here.
