Christopher Columbus Park has been officially renamed to honor Tohono O’odham educator Danny Lopez. Danny Lopez Park will be the new name of this unique plot of land on the northwest side of Tucson along the Santa Cruz River corridor. The re-naming of the park comes after a vote by the Tucson City Council on Wednesday, February 19th. Read the full KGUN article here.
