International Mother Language Day

International Mother Language Day (IMLD) is celebrated annually on February 21. Designated by UNESCO in 2000, IMLD promotes the preservation and protection of all languages. In 2025, IMLD will be celebrated by a variety of activities hosted by the American Indian Language Development Institute (AILDI) and West Regional Native American Language Resource Center (NALRC) on the University of Arizona campus.
