This workshop was a collaboration between AILDI and the Colorado River Indian Tribes. Several workshop sessions were held at the Colorado River Indian Tribes' Ahakav Preserve, a re-vegetation area for endangered and threatened plants and animals native to the Lower Colorado River Basin.
The two-day workshop focused on documenting traditional ecological knowledge and developing language tools and teaching materials based on the natural environment. Participants learned how to use outdoor surroundings to create products for use in teaching and learning such as topical dictionaries, story collections based on plants and animals and digital collections of plants and environment.
