Native Language Documentation: Partnering with Museums, June 4-5, 2015

Many Native communities do not have the funding to either document their language or create materials to use in the community or classroom. In this workshop, participants learned how one tribe developed a partnership with a museum to document their language and create new material for language learners. Participants learned the process of creating a partnership, developing a community team, finding funding and learning language documentation techniques using museum collections.

The instructor for the workshop was Rosyln Lapier. The workshop was held at the Arizona State Museum, University of Arizona, Tucson.
