Stan Rodriguez (Kumeyaay) led a two-day workshop at the Gila River Indian Community (GRIC). The workshop was originally scheduled to take place to agument the second AILDI summer session held at GRIC but due to scheduling conflicts it had to be postponed. The workshop focused on the Piipaash and O'odham languages. Stan introduced various techniques to keep participants in the language such as language pods. Working in pairs or small groups with a fluent speaker, participants described magazine articles and photographs, drew ten-page pictorials that were described in the language and took a walking tour of the Huhugam Heritage Center's exhibits. The exhibits were described to participants in the language. The workshop was sponsored by the GRIC Education Department and Huhugam Heritage Center.
