Please provide a brief description (approximately 5 sentences) about your program/institution.

The CTUIR Language Program will work towards revitalization of the Umatilla, Walla Walla, and Nez Perce languages. And will preserve, retrieve, document, teach and increase or restore language usage to tribal English-first speakers and beginner native language speakers and wholeheartedly involve all fluent speakers to their full capacity.

Lack of resources, elders, interest in language and outreach.

What are existing projects your program/institution is working on?

Language Immersion school for Pre-K.

What are the long-term goals for your program/institution (present day – 1 year from now)?

Hold more zoom classes for the community.

To have a successful immersion school/program.

Language needs to be a priority as it is in danger of dying.
