Re-Membering Ourselves to Land & Place

AILDI held a workshop for the Gila River Indian Community’s Language and Culture Teachers, July 8-11, 2019.  The workshop, “Re-Membering Ourselves to Land & Place”, was led by Sheilah Nicholas, Associate Professor, Department of Teaching, Learning & Sociocultural Studies, University of Arizona.  The workshop focused on immersion techniques, integrating ancestral language into the classroom, developing language scripts and sharing ideas for language lesson templates. The workshop was sponsored by the Tribal Education Department.
